Unaffected
As rain clouds
hid the sun
silencing birds once singing--
and color was depleted from the scene
I still felt
a warmth
hummed a melody
remembered that the grass was vivid green
Then, it slowly
reappeared
as distant chirps erupted
everything returned from gray to bright
But I was unaffected
by this repetitious cycle
which carried on before I slept that night
Although so
elusive
I was well protected
way inside, no matter what was out
For I'm not
represented
by any mere perception
but a deep connection strongly lacking doubt
Forgive my odd
notation
of sun and it's illusion
and all the ramblings I promote from there
Because, as
you can see
my comforts from within
and opinions of me, I don't really care
So, learn here
unpretended
from this gift at your disposal
‘til external influences, you've none
And behold,
a safe reflection
of what's real then, manifested
in your favor, all the effort you've undone
